Being my first project after moving to Portland, or, their now unrecognizable hands was my way of connecting to my new environment and listening to what it had to tell me. I have always felt attached to plant life and I believe trees to be thinking, communicative creatures. You just have to listen. sometimes they are singing, sometimes they are screaming.
