Alec Sellers is a New Topographic Photographer currently working out of Portland, Oregon. Most recently, he has released a zine titled The Pyramid of Pulpless Halves, depicting the estranged relationship humans have upheld with nature. Alec has been awarded the Isidore Finklestein Award for Merit as well as the Clarence Brown Jazmagy Award for Excellence in Photography. Under the mentorship of Paul Turounet, Sellers uses a combination of Digital and Analogue workflows. Alec portrays the connection and dissonance humanity shares with its immediate environment utilizing a critical but sensitive eye. He continues to dive deeper into the importance of our experiences as well as the tumultuous history humans have with nature.

To photograph is to look behind the curtain, to see the unseen, and to recognize the words of the song it sings. The human experience is speculative fiction, there is always more to what we feel and there is less to what we know.
